As the sun rose on July 25th 2009, nobody knew that it would be SRS's most successful day of racing in their 363 days. Contrary to our name, Sim Racing Society, it was actually in real-life racing where we triumphed. Real-life is, arguably, more important than Sim Racing. But don't tell anyone!

Scott MacDonald, James Barrington and Michael Passingham were there to represent SRS at the LFS UK Kart Meet, held at G-Force Karting, South Wales. There would be ten teams, each made up of three drivers, parcitipating in two races; a 1 hour mini-enduro and a 3 hour full-enduro. In the mini-enduro, Passo started the race and was able to reach a high-point of 2nd in the standings, having started 8th. Mackie drove second, and kept us on the podium in a consistent drive. CountBazley was to drive the final stint, and to the shock of everyone at the meet, brought the kart home in 3rd position, netting SRS their first ever endurance podium position.

In the full-enduro, Passo once again started the race. This time, he started from 3rd on the grid and managed to take the lead in a dramatic first stint; the most notable part of which involved a multi-car pile-up at the top of the circuit, which ended in a violent collision, breaking 2nd place driver's, Becky Rose, left-front wheel. Escaping the drama, Passo was able to pull out a lap lead over the field after his first stint and ended the stint with his number plate in his hands, waving it dramatically at the timekeepers. The race began to settle for the next hour, with a final surprise greeting the drivers in the final three stints; we had a different kart to drive! While we cannot admit that the kart we originally drove was much better than all the other karts, we will freely admit that our new kart was a "pile o' crap". Despite this drama, SRS managed to bring home the bacon in 2nd position; another SRS record smashed!

After the drama and physical strain of racing, it was time to head back to the host's (jasonmatthews) house and "recover" from the tiring day's racing. Obviously, the use of alcohol for this task was required.
On a serious note, on behalf of SRS, I would like to thank all of the organisers of this event and everyone who turned up for a fantastic day's racing!

If you're interested, you can watch a video of the weekend, made by Passo.

SRS was founded in July 2008 by Tim Beaudet, Eduardo de Souza and Michael Passingham.

This server reminds me of Project Gotham Racing, the classic cone-driving and drifting game. The only difference between them is that I was good at PGR.

That'll explain why the upload never completed... The old rules said that 1gb was the limit! Thanks very much troy!

I can't remember who took it (although I have a sneaking suspicion it was Joe K), but does anyone know where the pic of the SRS team is? I'd like to use it for a glorious news article for the website, showing our spendid success!

G'day race fans!

I've had some major problems with uploading the latest H2H video; it has been ready for over a month but have not been able to upload it in full-form.

As you can see, it's a bit late. But I still intend on getting every H2H broadcast done, even if it takes my entire life.

EDIT: Thanks to troy, I now have a complete file which he has kindly uploaded here

RAR 1
RAR 2
RAR 3

You will need all three files to watch the broadcast, and you'll need winrar. If you need help with this, post here.

Oh dear... I was wondering what the punchline would be.

But seriously, I think you should get yourself a new GF; I mean a new GF will be much cleaner than the old one!

I dare anyone to try and get 10+ adolecent gamers to do something on command. I remember for FOX1977's film, the behaviour from the traffic cars was terrible! The same applies to some of the 'actors' in Squidhead's movie. If I were to make a film like this, (which I would never do because it would kill me) I'd go ahead and ban all the people who were pissing me off. Just like in real life. Kinda.

Strange how they chose him over the two other test drivers... I'm looking forward to seeing how he does but I fear it may be a case of 'letting sleeping dogs lie'.

The Stig was one of the Marshalls showing off one of the more powerful karts of which they only have one. I think it was the Stig's nephew.

Quote from Nick A :Great work! Thankfully you didn't realise it was me in the no. 9 kart who wedged it into the tyres at the hairpin!

What happened with the winning team on the podium? Were we so ugly we needed to be faded out? :Eyecrazy:

No, the DVD ran out of disc space at the exact moment you guys came on the scene. I was quite annoyed. Thanks to Jason Lovett for being sparing with the filming of the podium so we were actually able to see the winners, even if only for a split second!

You have to imagine that the movie isn't taking place inside LFS; otherwise it is quite jarring when you see the cars appearing in different words. Anyone who didn't know LFS would easily be convinced.

Not strictly in-game footage, but this is my quick knock-up of this weekend's UK karting meet in Wales. Enjoy.

The sounds themselves were great; it's just sometimes you could hear when when the sound files began and ended. Totally understandable!

Finally got to watch it and...

It was worth the wait!

I'm a big fan of Ronin, to which you compare your video. There were so many action-packed scenes and some very good driving from the lead characters. The sounds were really good; some of the crashing sounds could have been slightly better but they really added a lot to the video. Did you take some of the crashing and horn noises from Ronin?

The music fitted the action really well and some of the crashes were mind-blowing, especially the XRT's flip into the traffic jam.

I have to say, this was much better than the trailer you released; and that was pretty darn good! I'd definitely rank this LFS movie in the top 3 of the year so far. Don't be surprised if you're nominated for the movie awards this year...
